The Role: Registered Children's Home Manager
Location: South East London
Salary: £48,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Shift based (Full Time 40+ hours with some flexibility)

Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Residential Manager, but are not limited to:
* Responsible for leading and managing the home in a way that delivers the ethos, outcomes and approach set out in the home’s Statement of Purpose.
* Oversee the monitoring and implementation of each resident’s Relevant Plans
* In order to ensure each young person’s needs are met the Registered Manager is responsible for seeking to develop the home’s effective working relationships with each young person’s placing authority and with other relevant persons which may include services, individuals (including parents), agencies, organisations and establishments that work with children in the local community, e.g. police, schools, health and youth offending teams
* Ensure that all staff work as a team to achieve positive outcomes for the residents, throughout the placement and in line with the five (Every Child Matters) key outcome targets and Quality Standards
* Responsible for the professional development and training of the staff within the home.
* Actively promote equal opportunities for all
* Responsible for regularly monitoring and reviewing the quality of the care provided by the home
The Person:
The key skills and qualities of a Residential Manager:
* Extensive experience of working with children and young people.
* Ability to engage young people who have had disrupted childhoods.
* Ability to establish effective relationships with young people and staff and role model person-centered practice.
* Experience of leading, engaging and motivating staff in a challenging organisational environment.
* Effective communication and IT skills.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services; or equivalent or working towards it.
