The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a leading global specialty chemical and high-performance technologies provider in the Warrington area. 

The Role
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will work in a highly regulated COMAH environment, supporting and facilitating future expansion plans and existing site modifications. This role offers a market-leading salary and benefits package, including a generous 13% annual bonus and 27 days’ holiday, with the potential to increase to 32 days after five years of service. Compensation will reflect your experience and expertise.

Your Duties and Responsibilities will be

Safety and Sustainability

Uphold high safety standards by meeting legislative and company safety, major accident prevention, and environmental requirements.
Champion and sponsor EHSQ improvements.
Ensure all site technical processes are designed to minimize risk and provide safe operating conditions to operations.Process Engineering
Lead the process design of improvement projects on the existing plant.
Manage all phases of project design from concept selection to detailed engineering and commissioning, including developing P&IDs, equipment datasheets, instrument specifications, cause and effects, and relief valve calculations.
Ensure technical and manufacturing projects meet company safety standards and business objectives for cost, timescale, and fitness for purpose.
Schedule and deliver all process engineering deliverables to achieve required project milestones.
Support the Operations Department with resources for fault-finding complex process problems.
Potentially lead a team of process engineers, managing resources to meet site objectives and project priorities, and maintaining site documentation according to procedures.
Participate in projects at other locations if required.Impact in This Role
Lead and implement capital projects, including process safety aspects, budgetary control, and ensuring they are fit for purpose.
Introduce innovations and equipment to optimize plant operations, material usage, output, product quality, and safety while reducing hazards.
Justify, scope, and design manufacturing and capacity improvements, ensuring compliance with PCA/MOC procedures.
Resolve technical problems affecting output, safety, major accident prevention, environmental quality, and cost targets.
Work with improvement projects on site, utilizing both small teams and consulting resources.
Define and design significant modifications to Capa processes in agreement with the Director of Technology.
Provide technical support for operations dealing with complex process problems.
Manage and mentor a team of process engineers.You will have the following Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Extensive experience in the chemical/oil industry.
Preferred experience in distillation, continuous and batch reaction, high hazard processes, and process safety standards.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on a COMAH site.
Proven experience in spearheading process safety and implementing on-site safety changes.
