Estimator

Our client are a leading Highways & Civils contractor based in the east midlands. They have developed a variety of contracting services across various sectors, which in turn aids them in providing outstanding service to their customers and clients.

Due to growth of the business, they are looking to bring an Estimator into their Pre-construction team. The successful candidate would ideally have circa 5 years' experience in an estimating role, civils & highways backgrounds would be a plus, but not essential.

Estimator

Responsibilities:

Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
Develop detailed cost breakdowns and summaries for highways and civil engineering projects.
Conduct site visits to evaluate project requirements and conditions.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Source and incorporate subcontractor and supplier quotes into project estimates.
Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare and manage estimates.
Stay current with market trends, pricing, and labour rates.
Support the bid process by responding to client inquiries and making necessary adjustments to estimates.
Participate in project handover meetings to ensure the accurate transfer of information to the project execution team.
Monitor and evaluate project costs to ensure alignment with original estimates.Estimator

Requirements:

Proven experience in an estimating role in the construction sector
Direct experience in civils/highways would be a plus, but not essential
Driver's license
Organised and meticulous, with ability to work alone and in a team
