Location: Hixon, Staffordshire – commutable from Burton upon Trent, Cannock, Penkridge, Stafford, Stoke, Uttoxeter, Wolverhampton

Salary: £DOE (flexible working hours-Days – 4 day week)

Wentworth James Group has engaged with a new client and a specialist manufacturer based in Hixon, Staffordshire. Due to succession planning of a long term and reliable work force, we are seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanically bias) but if you are multi-skilled with electrical experience this would be highly advantageous but not essential. This position could lead into the Maintenance Lead/Manager in the next 3-5 years.

Job Role;
As an Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer working within a busy engineering department you will be responsible for day to day maintenance of all plant, machinery and equipment across all areas of production. Ensuring all machinery and safety equipment meet all relevant standards.

Duties Include;

* Preventative and Reactive maintenance.

* Mechanical fault finding.

* Working within the engineering team to identify and implement improvements.

* With the assistance of production prioritize work to insure minimal downtime.

* Ensure all works are carried out on time and in a safe and efficient manner.

* Maintain a stock of relevant spares for key machinery and equipment.

Educational / Additional Qualification;

* Engineering qualification / apprentice trained.

* Good IT Skills = MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)

* Experience working in a production / factory environment.

* Fully conversant in all aspects of production maintenance, fabrication, welding and machine setting.

* Able to work to high standards of health & safety, quality and precision.

* A flexible and adaptable attitude to the completion of work with the ability to work proactively and independently.

* An in depth understanding of adhesive coatings, extracts and ventilation systems would be an advantage.

* Ability to understand a variety of engineering procedures and functions.

* Able to carry out regular PUWER assessments (machine safety)

* Team-working and people-management skills, able to liaise and work cooperatively with individuals at all levels.

* Negotiation skills and the ability to persuade others.

* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work under pressure.
