You’ll provide support and advice to young people who have experienced homelessness and other forms of social exclusion. You’ll work within our client's team to manage the day-to-day running of the young person’s 24/7 supported accommodation scheme and be the first point of contact for customers and visitors.

Job requirements

* Support customers in managing their rent and service charge payments, including their benefit claims where necessary.

* Deal with the immediate support needs of customers as appropriate and provide crisis intervention when necessary.

* Provide advice to customers on housing, health, welfare benefit claims and other issues as necessary. Accompany visitors on visits to other services and appointments where appropriate.

* Assist with all areas of move in to make sure new residents feel comfortable and have the right information concerning their tenure agreement, the local area and other services.

* Assist on prompting and recording weekly rent and service charges, maintaining resident rent records and making sure arrears are managed in line with the service’s policy.

* Assist on liaising with the housing benefit department and benefit agencies to make sure customers and the service receive all monies due to them.

What they are looking for:

* Educated to GCSE Level or with a good level of maths and English.

* Some experience dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment.

* Experience dealing with complex and difficult behaviours in relation to young people facing multiple disadvantages or the willingness to develop these skills.

* Great communication and administrative skills.

* Someone with a genuine understanding and compassion for people without a home, who won’t judge but instead will empower customers and give them a voice.

* Someone who is flexible and adaptable.

* DBS check.

* Someone with a full UK driving license who is able to use their own vehicle for work purposes.
