About the Role:

Our client, Clarks Speciality Foods Limited, is seeking a Credit Controller / Experienced Finance Assistant. Clarks Speciality Foods Limited, founded over 30 years ago, has established itself as Scotland’s leading, most innovative speciality food supplier of ambient, chilled, and frozen goods. Since a new management team and investor group took over the business in October 2015, they have focused heavily on investment in people, systems, product sourcing, and their fleet.

They are proud to supply many of Scotland’s finest hotels, restaurants, farm shops, delicatessens, and caterers. Their sourcing team constantly seeks new products and ideas through a combination of expertise and enthusiasm for fine foods. They take pride in supporting their innovative customers, chefs, and speciality retailers, who are continually refreshing their offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage a portfolio of accounts (restaurants, hotels, caterers, independent delis, and farm shops), ensuring timely and effective collection of debt and escalation where necessary.

* Record and resolve disputes both internally and externally regarding outstanding invoices.

* Maintain the integrity of the Sales Ledger by reconciling customer accounts, including running and sending out statements and resolving customer queries.

* Maintain and strengthen relationships with internal and external customers.

* Allocate receipts (received through bank accounts, credit card, cash) on Sage.

* Keep accurate records of communication with internal and external customers.

* Periodically review credit limits, ensuring customers remain within their credit limits.

What You Need:

* Experience in a Credit Control position.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

* Excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage your own time and caseload, and the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a small team.

* A good knowledge of accounting systems (they use Sage 50, currently upgrading to Sage 200), and knowledge of Procure Wizard would be advantageous.

Experience:
