GSL Education is on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistant with experience in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our vibrant team. This role isn't just about supporting students; it's about being a positive role model, an advocate for change, and a beacon of hope for those who need it most.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant (SEMH), you'll:

Empower Students: Work closely with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges, providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive academically and personally.
Implement Strategies: Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies, tailored to the individual needs of each student.
Provide Mentorship: Act as a mentor and a confidant, offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear to students who may be struggling with various issues.
Promote Positive Relationships: Foster positive relationships and a supportive learning environment, where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Support Inclusion: Champion inclusion and diversity within the school community, ensuring that all students feel welcomed and accepted, regardless of their background or circumstances.

The ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs, either in a school setting or a similar environment.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience in the face of challenging situations.
Be proactive, creative, and adaptable, with a willingness to think outside the box and try new approaches.
Hold relevant qualifications or certifications in education, counselling, psychology, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
