Airmotive Technician (129jc) – Kelbrook, Lancashire – up to £28k + Benefits

A specialist aviation company who works on a variety of aviation gas turbines are now seeking to recruit an additional Airmotive Tech to join their rapidly expanding company.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

In this role you will be reporting to the Line Manager, and you will disassemble PT6 engines, and clean the related components in line with Pratt & Whitney Canada manuals, and in accordance with the Company’s Quality Systems.

So therefore, your responsibilities will include:

* To be competent in all aspects of engine disassembly, which will include engine inspection and completing all relevant paperwork etc as well as engine disassembly in accordance Pratt & Whitney Canada & Standard Practices manuals, using controlled tooling.

* To be competent in all aspects of components clean, including component clean and blasting in accordance with Pratt & Whitney Canada & Standard Practices manuals and daily and weekly checks to ensure compliance to required standards.

* Maintain a clean and ordered working environment.

* Liaison with the various department heads to ensure that the needs of the business are met.

* Ensure compliance with companies Quality Systems

* Maintain the highest 6S standard.

* Ensure compliance with H&S requirements and liaise with H&S manager as necessary.

* Completion of any other tasks as designated by your Line Manager

To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

* Preference to a mechanical background. Experience in aviation is not essential as on the job training will be provided.

* Basic understanding of tooling and measuring equipment

* Ability work on own initiative whilst still upholding highest quality standards.

* Understand and interpret technical drawings and service bulletin requirements.

* Strong familiarisation with use of appropriate PPE

* Problem solving and proactive approach.

* Self-motivated

* Effective communicator all levels

* Committed, focused, enthusiastic.

* Assertive and adaptable with good interpersonal skills.

* Ability and flexibility to work any shift changes required through business needs.

* Willingness to undergo additional training to meet developing and changing business needs.

The ideal candidate would probably come from an Aviation Engineering background who is seeking to continue in this sector as they are willing to train and fund candidates to gain their relevant B licences as needed.
